Got home after the Fayah show and instead of the band all going to a waffle house to do research, we parted ways and I decided to make an audio "video" out of a Reel Big Fish track I've been listening to/mixing. (Too bad its not here any more because the albums done)

On First chair percussion we have the noble: rustic armorer
On T-bone a sarcastic :old, hip tracker.
When I asked the tenor Saxophonist his name he gave a simple response: "I, a zen friar".
and on Alto sax the seasonal and tasty: yule bark hit.

APRIL FOOL

Alex is obviously up to no good.  He sits at a crossroads between two worlds: one of rhythmic noise making and the other of...arhythmic noise making.  I heard a jackhammer on Monday and it made me think of blast beats, although I thought blast beats were supposed to emulate the sound of a machine gun.  Kinda like the way a Rockabilly shuffle emulates a hot rod engine.  Art imitating life.

Speaking of which, Alex is imitating a fool in this picture.  Highly convincing, wouldn't you agree?  I'm posting it on the first day of April, although this picture was taken on the third weekend of March.  Since March has now passed, our top lips are now barren and the mustaches are gone.  I look forward to eating ribs and watermellon once again.

In conclusion, tools is tools and drums is drums, and never the twain shall meet.

So I'm Not A Huge Fan Of Dan Deacon...

Oh boy this week has been so busy!! My boyfriend's family came into town, work began to get busy, our CD release show!! But I went to Disneyland, we went out to eat at a bunch of my favorite spots, I saw a bunch of my friends and family, and I went to a movie!!

Go see I Love You, Man! It was so funny!! I think my boyfriend and I are going to go see it tomorrow because he didn't get to go with my sister and I yesterday.

I heard that its going to get really hot this next week, like 80 degrees or something!! I hope I have time to go down to the beach because I've been waiting for summer weather since... well since last summer :)

MASSIVE Goldfish

Curtis' good friend Terry B. gladly offered to let him borrow his kit for recording.  The intensity at last night's release hit the "STUFF 'GON BREAK" threshold and Curtis cracked a piece of hardware in half.

Some of the more memorable moments from last night's show are going to be tracked today and tomorrow.  Trying out some new mic pres and new mics and the world will finally hear recordings with Bhakti on them.
