April 2 Announcements

Hi Internet,

First of all, thanks to all our adventurous (and punctual) fans out there who decided to check out the April Fools Day Edition of "It's About Time." It was only up for 24 hours on April 1 and the actual music was buried in band commentary ranging from a discussion of Apollo Ohno's soul patch to the real reason why Country Dave's keyboards were so low in the final mix. If you're really curious to hear 40+ minutes of commentary, I'm sure it will be floating around on the internet soon...or you could just ask someone who downloaded it very nicely.

The commentary was recorded a week ago and leads to a bit of confusion. Let me clarify:

We are no longer playing on the Chase Long Beach/Starpool April 9 Glasshouse show.

This was due to a scheduling conflict on the Glasshouse's end. Country Dave will still be there screaming inaudibly to the Guilty Parties last set, and you should too! We weren't happy to hear the news, but there is no drama. We'll be back in Pomona on June 26 at Ska in the Park 2010.

Tara Pearce has decided to focus her efforts on Giant Book Sale and will no longer be playing with Half Past Two. Lindsey Smith, overall nice person and talented multi-instrumentalist, will be taking over as the lead singer of Half Past Two.

We wish Tara the best and we're currently looking into some farewell options for her to bid audieu to the fans, but we'll have an announcement on that in the near future. Until then, please welcome Lindsey and check out her mad djembe skillz:

Dear Roland...The 1980s Ended 20 Years Ago

Every purchase of a Lucina AX-09 comes with a (one) free "Play Keytar for HP2" pass. Watch out for the bastardized version of Van Halen's "Jump" towards the end and if you listen closely enough you can tell the narrator's native language is Japanese.

The Master of All Bass

These speakers and bass cabinets were used in the first inception of Half Past Two, previous to the entrance of David Parris and commonly referred to as, "Half Past Two 1.0." As we now look upon the dawn of HP2.5, it's time to shed some artifacts of the past and share these treasures with the next generation of bass players.

Parties interested in taking on the title of "Bass Master" can contact the band email and check out the original Craigslist posting here.

Rumor is it that the spirit of the Zombass inhabits this rig, and if a HP2 fan pleads hard enough I might be able to throw in a certain mask, also from circa 2006/2007.

And thus I cast thee out to the wind, Yorkville Bass Master 400, Avatar 2x10" cabinet and Avatar 1x15" cabinet! May we meet again at the end of days in the halls of Valhalla with the rest of my former chariots of rock!
