Okay I know it's kind of awkward to use our band's blog to hype some other dude, but I have to say this, if you're reading this blog right now stop what you're doing and go check out Frank Turner. Frank is a singer-songwriter from England and he's so good at what he does that it kills me. As a songwriter a lot of times you end up listening to someone else's work and thinking, "damn I wish I'd written that line", I get that from every one of Frank's songs.

The Great Refuge Calls.

My friends, it has been a wonderful ride.

Many were rocked, many were rolled. Friendships were made and friendships were broken. There were some incredible shows. There were some lackluster performances (that I still enjoyed.) There were faces and names I will never remember. There are people and songs I will never forget.

Our last performance will always give me reason to smile. If there is any moment down the line where I forget why I do all this--why I play--I will think back to Friday night and how I felt, how the band felt, and how we made people feel. I will think of me starting the set with an overly ambitious extended Lyin Eyes intro. I will think of Patrick Holder's Pink Sunglasses and major triad outros. I will think of Doc Bhak's belt buckle and virtuosic skills on the bridge to Kids. I will think of Billy's grooves, and the intensity of Curtis' rhythms. I will remember Tara being kind enough to loan me her mic on the Way solo.

Oh and speaking of the Way, I will remember the most badass improv three horn intro groove (it was if we were three strands of hair being BRAIDED!) I will remember covering for Tyler by playing the guitar riff on Legacy. I will remember Dave's support and hardwork towards making sure my going away party was provided with awesome sound the entire night.

Its a lot to think back about. Although I'm sure many memories of the last near-two years with the band will fade in time, I know Friday will stay with me.

Don't be too sad, I'm only six hours away, and the music goes on. See below!

Tyler should make a song like this with Tara:

im sitting on my living room floor steaming my throat. i have to hold the steamer up to my face so im typing with one hand... IMPRESSIVE!!!

i had so much fun at the english beat/reel big fish show. i just love being on a stage that is actually big enough for all eight of us! amazing. i am truely very sad that ian is not going to be playing with us anymore... i felt so close to him! for now, im in mourning.

on a lighter note, i got my nylon magazine in the mail and this month is the denim issue. I LOVE DENIM! i wish i could own more jeans... maybe someday. my job wont let us wear pants really and i love pants.

i need to call my parents.
