Updates!!!

So, let's start with the obvious:

"Wait a minute Country Dave, it's 10:00 on May 8th, aren't you supposed to be playing a show with the band of this blog right now!?!?"  It's true, I should be there, but alas I am suffering from a mighty, frightening, electrolyte draining case of the "Country Dave's", so I'm blogging instead of in a band rocking.

But since I feel like I should still do something constructive and band related to kill this terrible feeling of guilt (at least I think it's guilt, I could just be gassy, whose to say really) I've decided to let you guys know what's going on with us lately.  As you've noticed our show load has decreased by quite a bit (three listed shows over three months, wtf band that normally takes up most of my free time!?), but we're working on fixing that, so if you're interested in having a ska band play in your backyard we come at very affordable rates.

As always seems to be the case Tyler has locked himself in side of THE STATION and, if I'm not mistaken, when he finally emerges this time he is going to have a special surprise for everybody, all I know is he brought Alex and I in this past Weds. to yell into a microphone, beyond that I don't know what that man has planned. Be sure to check our Twitter for updates on what that man does, he is short and concise when writing so he can do that, whereas my sentences just keep going to the point where they become terribly grammatically incorrect beyond all reason.

This of course brings me to the best part of being in a band, NEW SONGS!!!!  Yeah remember those songs that you liked(? people like our songs?), yeah, those suck, our new songs are going to BLOW YOUR MIND!!!!  As a matter of fact, I'm actually taking a break from writing lyrics for these new songs (I kid you not) to write this blog.

What makes these new songs so cool is the way we're writing them this time around.  What we used to do is:  myself or the Tyler would sit down write a song, bring it to the band, the band would tweak it, then we'd play it.  NOW on the other hand it's all written in the room, just "jams" the magically gain a structure (mostly through the licking of toads).

So, long story short I'm terrible at blogging, good day.

Gogol Bordello May 21st Fox Theater in Pamona

All of you out there in internetsville should go to this show ok?  Country Dave and I are gonna go because even members of Half Past Two need a dose of Gypsy Punk now and again.  I've never seen these folks live before but I here rumors that they go relentlessly ape-shit-bat-fuck crazy onstage.  And for those of you saying, "Silly Alex, punk is dead.  Don't you watch TV?"  To that I say, "A) I do watch TV but apparently not the shit you watch. B) Don't let Country Dave here you say such things.  He's liable to burn you at the stake between Fall Out Boy and Katy Perry. And 3) Punk isn't dead, it just went quasi-acoustic.  Cross-reference the aforementioned Gogol Bordello, Blackbird RAUM, The Hail Seizures, No Idea Records, Plan it X Records.  I believe the kids are calling it the folk punk.  10 HP2 points goes to anyone who can find mention of a band called Love Songs 4 Robots.  Their single is a ditty called "Louise."  It's about murder.

Ok, I'm supposed to be writing scholarship essays right now.
